Specialist Vet Joins NML Team

Eamon Watson MRCVS has joined National Milk Laboratories (NML) as a veterinary adviser.
Following practical experience in dairy farming and studies at Sparsholt College, in Hampshire, Eamon headed to Liverpool University to study veterinary science.
He started his veterinary career in a mixed practice and then a specialit farm practice in Somerset. He the took on a role as a veterinary investigation officer in Winchester where he carried out post mortem examination and disease investigation of farm livestock on behalf of private vets.
Alongside his wide ranging experience, Eamon has a master's degree in the control of infectious diseases in animals. He has recently worked at the Animal and Plant Health Agency, Weybridge on antimicrobial resistance in dairy herds, new and emerging disease surveillance and bovine TB.
He joins NML as part of the veterinary team, which offers technical support to the company's health and disease testing services. Eamon's experience will be particularly valuable on laboratory diagnostics and herd health, including Johne's and BVD control, milk hygiene and testing for mastitis pathogens.
